Hi, I’m Giselle.
I earned my B.S. in Sociology and Critical Gender Studies at the University of California, San Diego, and my M.S. in Counseling at San Diego State University. For nearly a decade, I have focused my clinical work on supporting clients in creating spaces where their hopes, values, and wellbeing can be centered and nurtured.
As a Mexican and Japanese therapist, I hold identities that are rooted in cultures and geographies that seem worlds apart. Growing up with these influences often left me with the feeling of existing between spaces. This experience of existing in the between was furthered when I moved from my home state of California to Texas. Once again, I found myself between different communities, different ways of being, and different shores. These experiences have profoundly shaped how I understand the importance of belonging, grounding, and integration.
In my work, I carry this perspective into the therapeutic relationship. I recognize how complex it can feel to hold multiple identities, navigate expectations, or reconcile different parts of ourselves. Therapy, to me, is about making room for all of those pieces; the ones we celebrate easily and the ones we hold quietly. I believe that when clients feel deeply seen, safe, and supported, they can begin to root more firmly in themselves, even when the world around them is shifting or uncertain.
I am passionate about creating a space where clients can not only process challenges, but also imagine new possibilities, reconnect with their own wisdom, and cultivate practices that sustain their wellbeing. It is an honor to walk alongside my clients as they move toward greater clarity, self-trust, and peace in their lives.
